Free Prasadam (Sanctified Food) Distribution:

Servants, Hare Krishna - WECAN Team,
Click here to visit our Free Food Distribution Facebook Group.

- The project was inaugurated on 31st October 2010. It works as a catalyst for building goodwill between devotees and local communities, attracting people to join our outreach programs.

Our team undertakes Free Food-Prasadam distribution in different areas of Auckland. This service is done when it doesn't clash with our other services. Devotees wake up very early, perform their morning worship, cook and distribute various delicacies Free or on Pay as you like basis. Along side the free prasadam stall, we also have a Book Distribution stall selling Srila Prabhupada's transcendental books, CDs, T-Shirts etc, with Hare Krishna kirtans playing in the background. People look forward for our visit and simply love the prasadam. We make few devotees on the way.

We are constantly expanding this project to other areas so as to reach more communities and spread the message of Srila Prabhupada.

- Since 2017 we inaugurated Food Bank which supplies Free Prasadam to needy people in Auckland on a weekly basis. We do this distribution directly through our Food Relief operations through our Hare Krishna - WECAN (NZ Public Charity) and through other partner Charities in New Zealand.

- Taking the concept further, from 17th February 2018 we have inaugurated Srila Prabhupada's "Festival of Krishna" a Hare Krishna - WECAN (Food Relief) program which is part of Hare Krishna - WECAN (NZ Public Charity). In the program we invite people of various ethnicities to our Festival to experience Krishna Conscious culture and atmosphere of Love and Knowledge. The program consists of FREE Food-Prasadam + Kirtans + Philosophy + Association of Devotees.

Amongst the people who attend the Festival, those who are interested in learning more about Krishna Consciousness join our weekly Workshops wherein we teach different concepts of Krishna Consciousness and they also join our regular on-line Philosophy courses via Social Media and Email groups.
